Magie has been teaching ukulele for about five years now. SHe was formerly in ukulele band Doll Tits, and is the owner of Home Sweet Home Tattoo in Maplewood, NJ as well as being a DJ at Maker Park Radio!

This FREE event is at the cozy Oda Café in Staten Island.
Honeychild Coleman will explore seminal records produced by women who have made a big imact on electronic and dub music. Part listening event, part history lesson, this event is sure to educate and inspire!
Honeychild Coleman started her musical career busking in the New York City subway system. From 1998 onward she is a founding member and organizer of the Sistagrrrl Riots, performing experimental electronic music, and more recently fronting the blues-punk outfit The 1865, post-punk trio Bachslider and electro-punk duo GKA. She has worked with The Slits, Mad Professor, Apollo Heights/The Veldt, and Badawi/Raz Mesinai. She appeared in the documentaries Tina Turner: My Songs,My Life, Afro-Punk, Fireflies,Getting My Name up There, Sounds of Justice and Rock Chicks. Her songs have been featured in the film Pariah, and her band The 1865’s music in television series Woke! and Everything’s Gonna Be All White. Coleman’s writing appears in RAZORCAKE ‘zine Issue #130 (2022) and James Spooner and Chris Terry’s anthology Black Punk Now!(2023)

This workshop is an intro to the DAW commonly used in music production and beat making. This is taught by DJ and music producer Aaron, aka D3signer Dr3ams.
We’ll be learning the basics of creating your own music, starting from silence to sound! We’ll learn about the fundamentals of music, how to use a Digital Audio Workstation to put together elements of music, structure / manipulate those elements, and finish your own track! You’ll leave with the foundational knowledge to make music you love!
Limited to 8 students, you will have an opportunity to work with FL Studio in this workshop. This workshop is for the new producer, or one interested in getting a refresher on FL Studio

Get your hands dirty in a fun introductory course to tape loops.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll explore why you might use a tape loop, how they work, and ways to process them for further sonic exploration. Ultimately you’ll open up a cassette then cut and splice your own tape loop to bring home.
Explore an endless lo-fi soundscape of your own creation. Feel free to bring your own tape from home that you won’t mind destroying, but prerecorded tapes will also be provided.
